During the London Design Festival, we're spotlighting up-and-coming Hackney brand, Uncommon Ancestor with a pop-up window display.
London Design Festival returns this week, a celebration of everything design through installations, exhibitions, talks, workshops and more. The festival’s largest district, Shoreditch Design Triangle, will feature over 100 events and activations, a true celebration of London’s most creative neighbourhood.
With the streets set to be buzzing with culture vultures we’re using this moment to spotlight a local independent business: Uncommon Ancestor. Founded by Hackney-based designer Kara Douwma, Uncommon Ancestor crafts bespoke furniture, blending carpentry and embroidery to create storytelling heirlooms, rich in both symbolism and iconography.
You’ll find an exclusive preview of Uncommon Ancestor’s beautiful furniture on display at 32 Redchurch Street from 13th – 21st September.
